Escape the smoke??

Part of the reason I was looking forward to coming over to Seattle was to escape the month-long smoke haze that's lingered over Butte. Here's Seattle today:

It seems most of the entire west is on fire. I think Montana alone has over 40 going some as large as 100,000 acres.

    1. I've never seen it like this in my 71 years, Tom. '88 was bad in Montana when Yellowstone burned, but this is the entire west. My son said this morning the ash in portland was coming down like snow. Same here in Seattle.

  2. I didn't want to be the first to say this is horrid. It is. Shortly you'll be walking through ash, like Mt. St. Helens. My stomach is in a knot for all of you. Take care.

  3. Why is this not getting more attention on the news? It is maybe that our attention is always gripped to Washington and the horror that is going on there. Now we have these hurricanes and the bad news keeps on coming. My daughter lives in California and thankfully she is not being impacted by these fires, at least this time. I hope that relief from the smoke will come to you soon.

  4. It makes me so sad this is happening, all because of a firecracker tossed carelessly into the woods. Heartbreaking. I hope you're ok with your own health issues Mike. Very stressful.
