Life moves on

From a few weeks ago, the kid across the street with my fly stuff, rods, etc. Happy to see it carrying on, how it should be.

  1. Looks like the kid did good. Nice of you to loan him the gear.

    1. I've told him about a couple of the rods, the Thomas & Thomas has a lifetime guarantee, if/when he breaks it, they'll replace it. He doesn't know it, but he now has equipment that is simply not available outside of internet sales, and it'll be a decade or two before he can afford it. He'll figure it out in his own good time. What I like is the simple pleasure he takes in having a rod that feels good in casting, and functional equipment.
      Cheers,
      Mike

  3. You gave him something that will bring him good memories in the future. He seems to be doing very well with it.

    1. A great kid, he's doing well indeed. And a true Montana kid, has no plans of leaving, but life changes on a dime, as we know.

  4. Great looking fish. You don't mean to say you've given up fishing, do you?

    1. That is a hell of a rainbow, and consider that it comes from a stream that's about 12 feet wide. 'Notellum creek' as we know it.
