Meatballs

Equal parts elk, pork....then some breadcrumbs, egg, parmesan cheese, seasonings, browned in olive oil, then simmered in a marinara sauce. Served over pasta.

The video is just in case you'd forgotten that Ry Cooder is one of the premier guitar players, slide guitar, and songwriters of our generation.

Cheers.

    1. Well, who doesn't, John? I'm sure Chris does too. Let me know if you want we to put some elk on dry ice and ship it.

  2. Looks really tasty I'd have to substitute a local whitetail for the elk though. As to giving up fly fishing perhaps, you did it very admirably. Nothing like getting some local boys or girls interested. Unfortunately there seems to be much less interest among the kids for hunting and fishing as once. Some years ago a book title Last Child In The Woods cover that subject quite well. My own outdoor activities are increasingly limited to my spouse and I walking our GSD twice a day. A caretaker role keeps me mostly occupied along with the usual vertigo etc. of the aging process. I miss flyfishing the most here in Bluff Country and annual trips to Montana...:)

    1. I miss it all too, TB. But I've had a good run, couldn't ask for more. Cheers, my friend.

  3. I do love meatballs! I also love Ry Cooder. Within no more than five minutes, I'll be listening to him. It's been awhile, so thanks for the idea.
